Elementary, my dear Watson.

Following up on the inspiration for painted pumpkins…here are some photos from Andersen Elementary School in Florida! Each class was asked to make one pumpkin based off of a book character and here is what they come up with!

Be good and have a great Halloween!

Pumpkin Painting Inspiration

23 Oct

I probably won’t finish the painting of the squashes until Tuesday, but I thought I’d put up another inspiration page for pumpkin painting.

Enjoy!

A Day Late, and a Pumpkin Short

22 Oct

Not really, I only had two pumpkins to start with. I’ve got a couple of acorn squash that I’ll be painting this afternoon, but I wanted to go ahead and get the picture of the carved pumpkins up.

I decided to lay the tall pumpkin down and carve it kinda like a vase that has hairline cracks all through it. I like the way it came out. The other one was an odd shape that I had originally wanted to put an owl on, but the pumpkin ended up being too round to do detail work on. Instead, I took an extra squash I had and decided to make the bane of squash existence, The Squashinator (look for the movie soon!…j/k)!

Hope this inspires you to get creative with your pumpkin carving this year!

Be good!
